Items Seized: 9.5 pounds of methamphetamine
On January 25, 2018 Officer Kyle Dolph assisted the RUSH Drug task force with a search warrant on a property in Rockingham County Virginia. Based on information gathered from a confidential informant officers obtained and executed a search warrant on the property. According to the confidential informant there was to be a significant amount of crystal methamphetamine on the property. Officer Dolph utilized K9 Tyr to sniff the residence on the property as well as the vehicle that was parked in the driveway. During the sniff of these areas K9 Tyr indicated and alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from a soft sided cooler in the dining room of the residence and also coming from the vehicle that was parked in the driveway. Upon searching the soft sided cooler officers located a clear plastic container that contained approximately 2 pounds of crystal meth. Once the suspect vehicle in the drive way was opened officer Dolph used K9 Tyr to sniff the interior of the vehicle. During the sniff of the interior of the vehicle K9 Tyr indicated and alerted to the rear passenger area of the van. After an extensive search officers located 3 packages located in the natural void of the van between the exterior wall of the van and the interior wall. Upon removing these packages and inspecting them, it was determined that each container contained approximately 2.5 pounds of crystal meth.
